Resonance is a harmonic, relational force that moves through all things.

Theory of Resonance

from Resonance Institute, last adapted 2025

What is resonance work?

Resonance work attunes to the relational, harmonic frequency of the individual and collective. It aims to re-pattern dissonance in the mind-body and support Self-led, embodied practice for healing, creativity, and wayfinding. This work understands the quantum potential of moving towards what resonates with us to cultivate thriving ecosystems and shape possible futures.

Why does resonance matter?

Resonance hums with creative source and a way of living and being. Many of us experience inner and outer worlds that are dissonant and polarized. Resonance is a guiding force in the current of a particular time-place that offers healing, inspires creativity, and fosters belonging for individuals and groups. Resonance reverberates outward and inward towards re-balance and collective harmony.

What does resonance work look like?

There are many ways to cultivate resonance. At Resonance Institute, we support a practice of Self leadership through parts work and Internal Family Systems, somatic experience and embodiment, curiousity, and sound. Resonance work moves beyond cognitive ways of knowing to felt and sensed ways to understand ourselves, open capacity, and navigate change.

How might I sense resonance?

We've all heard the phrase, "That resonates with me." Sensing resonance asks us to pause and notice the felt experience of that resonance. We may notice a resonance with ideas, imagination, or a shared vision. We may observe an energetic resonance with storytelling, music, or visual art. Resonance may also be experienced with others through shared cultural experience or integrity practice. Each of us experiences resonance differently.
